A Cortright design

In the Virginia and Carolina mountain areas, this regional shingle design survives due to the care of owners who want to preserve old metal roofing.

On this home near Lake Lure, the owner selected terracotta tinted acrylic.  Her choice blended well with the type of brick foundation and the beige-like siding.  The only drawback was the displeasure of her grandchildren in her switch from red to terracotta.  Her home is beautiful inside and out.

In the past fifteen years, I have seen this rare design only four times, resulting in three projects.

Update:  Design is one of four of Cortright Company.
