Copper roof that leaked

On this copper roof, the repair material…..which does not require primer….was tinted in patina green.   Note the “shiny” patina located in the inside corner–that area is the repair.

The purpose of this repair is to stop a leak while allowing the owner time to decide on restoring this roof or replacing.

Unlike most copper panel roofing, this one leaked because the roof came from another structure.

Not surprisingly, the warping that comes with a tearoff and re-installation resulted in some difficult to identify leak entry points.

After the owner sold the home, he dropped me a note:  “I may not have been your most profitable customer, but I am the most appreciative.”
