Durham shingle roof in North Carolina
1814 Vale Street |
Denise Harrison will be honored on Oct 18th with an award for her efforts to preserve three vintage homes (1814 Vale Street, 1909 Carden Lane, 1907 Carden Lane) Denise offered us the opportunity to save the embossed tin shingle roof on Vale St.
Roof edge in need of extra work |
The roof was quite worn due to excessive rusting along the roof edges. In spite of any initial reservations, clearly the vast majority of the roof was still solid and water tight. Just selected areas needed extra work.
The above photo illustrates repairs were required along the roof edge. The photo below illustrates the repair after primer was applied but before the traditional red coating from Andek Corporation was applied to Durham shingle roof project.
For a closeup of the repair and two other significant problems, check the webpage of Denise’s shingle roof in Durham, NC.
